Between 8:10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 26 and 7:20 a.m. Monday, March 5 police responded to 216 calls.
Portage High School: Police on Feb. 26 at 3:33 p.m. responded to a disturbance where a 15-year-old Portage boy was approached about threatening to beat up a student created a scene including cursing at staff. The boy was referred to Columbia County Health and Human Services for disorderly conduct.
Central Portage: Police on Feb. 27 at 7:07 p.m. responded to a report of a 15-year-old Portage girl who had posted photos of herself with a gun to social media accompanied by a reference to school shootings. The girl was referred to Columbia County Health and Human Services for disorderly conduct.
West Marion Street: Police on Feb. 27 at 9:59 p.m. responded to a reported disturbance where Jessica Rae Williams, 33, of Portage, had allegedly been yelling threatening statements. Williams was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia.
New Pinery Road: Police on Wednesday at 1:35 a.m. responded to a disturbance where a 31-year-old Portage man was accused of throwing a woman to the ground by her neck, the woman found with injury to her neck and inside of her lip. The man was arrested and later charged with felony strangulation, misdemeanor battery, misdemeanor disorderly conduct and felony bail jumping.
Walmart: Police on Thursday at 11:37 p.m. responded to a complaint of a drunk and disorderly customer. Dean Briggs, 60, of Portage, was arrested and later charged with misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and resisting an officer, and five counts of felony bail jumping.
East Slifer Street and New Pinery Road: Police on Friday at 8:04 a.m. responded to a reported traffic accident where a driver had turned in front of another vehicle. Trina Gaunt, 35, of Endeavor, was cited for making an unsafe turn at an intersection.
DeWitt Street and West Carroll Street: Police on Friday at 12:41 p.m. responded to a reported traffic accident where a northbound vehicle on DeWitt Street reportedly attempted to cross both lanes onto West Carroll Street, striking another vehicle in the west lane. Sandra K. Burt, 55, of Marshfield, was cited for failure to yield right of way while making a left turn.
West Cook Street: Police on Saturday at 10:11 a.m. stopped a vehicle for driving with a loud muffle. Erika Snider, 30, of Baraboo, was issued a citation for operating a motor vehicle while drugged as a second offense. Passenger Christopher Joyce, 36, of Portage, reportedly ran from the scene, wanted on a Department of Corrections warrant with pending charges of obstructing an officer and bail jumping.
Hamilton Street: Police on Saturday at 1 p.m. responded to a domestic disturbance where a 32-year-old Portage man was arrested on suspicion of domestic disorderly conduct, battery, and violation of probation.
New Pinery Road: Police on Saturday at 6:18 p.m. responded to a reported bicycle theft that had been in progress, with suspects confronted. A 12-year-old Portage girl was referred to Columbia County Health and Human Services for theft and a 12-year-old Portage boy was referred for theft and criminal damage to property.
Locust Street and Orchard Street: Police on Saturday at 11:51 p.m. made contact with a car illegally parked and partially blocking a driveway. The driver, Erin Rogers, 37, of Baraboo, was arrested and cited for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated as a first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.
West Collins Street: Police on Sunday at 12:24 p.m. responded to a reported collision, where Jeffrey Strong, 57, of Endeavor, was cited for suspected hit-and-run involving property.
East Highway 33: Police on Sunday at 12:39 p.m. responded to a reported collision, where Mark R. St. Martin II, 27, of Portage, was eastbound, striking another driver turning into a driveway. St. Martin was cited for inattentive driving.
Henry Drive: Police on Sunday at 3:50 p.m. responded to a a domestic disturbance where a 34-year-old man and 58-year-old woman were each cited with misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
