She was a member of the Columbia County Homemakers, Poynette Inch United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher as well as a choir member, and a member of the Arlington Curling Club. She enjoyed playing softball and hit multiple home runs in one game. She enjoyed playing cards and was a member of pinochle and euchre card clubs. Her greatest joy was her family and being on the Mountford family farm in the town of Lowville.

She is survived by her children, Lori Mountford of Madison, Nancy (Jeff) Schuchardt of Windsor, Roger Mountford of Poynette and Gail Mountford (Joe Durow) of Sun Prairie; her grandchildren, Samantha and Lydia Schuchardt and Jacob and Kyle Mountford; her sisters-in-law, Madeline Kindschi of Markesan and Joan (Webster) Carter of Middleton; brother-in-law, Robert (Donna) Mountford of Poynette; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mom taught us many life lessons. She had struggles this past year but she always kept her spirits up. She said that she wasn’t in very good shape but she had a great time getting there! We will miss the twinkle in her eye, her smile, and her spunk.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at The Barn at Harvest Moon Pond, N3540 Highway 22, Poynette, with the Rev. Sharon Smith officiating. Burial will be follow at Hillside Cemetery. Visitations will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at The Barn on Harvest Moon Pond, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday.
