NORTH CAROLINA/PARDEEVILLE - Jeannie R. Meyers, 51, departed this life Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, after courageously battling a long illness at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, N.C., with her family by her side.
She was born May 13, 1959, in Madison, to Gerald and Janet Hulce Meyers. After graduating from Pardeeville High School in 1977, she pursued a career in nursing and devoted her life to caring for others and raising her children.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Nate (Nicole) Walker, Eric Walker, Nichole Walker and Kyle Walker, and grandson Grayson Walker, all of Catawba, N.C. Jeannie also is survived by her mother, Janet Berger of Pardeeville; sisters Kristie Holtan of Rio, Kathy (Curt) Cook of Rio, Sandy (Ken) Thompson of Seattle, Wash., and Dawn (Dave) Dolajeck of Pardeeville; and stepsisters, Mitzi (Rich) Manthey of Wyocena and Karla (Jim) Dailing of Florida. Jeannie also will be missed by many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Meyers; a brother, Gerald Meyers Jr.; sister, Cindy Meyers; and stepfather, Courtney Berger.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Smith Funeral Home in Pardeeville. Inurnment will be at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery in Madison. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday.
Smith Funeral Home in Pardeeville is serving the family.
