A rollover crash near Lodi Tuesday afternoon killed the passenger and injured the driver, with the crash closing a  local road for over three hours.

The crash was reported at about 4 p.m. on Reynolds Road near Lovering Road in the town of Lodi, the Columbia County Sheriff's Office said.

The initial report showed a Ford Focus driven by a 65-year-old woman was going west on Reynolds Road when the car went off the shoulder and overturned into the ditch.

The 62-year-old male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver was taken to UW Hospital in Madison by Medflight.

Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash, but officials said the speed of the car is under investigation.

The identity of the fatal victim was not released pending notification of family.
