Some religious leaders like to advocate for the Republican Party as being the moral choice. God is certainly on the side of morality, but I would like to point out that the prophets of the Old Testament and the gospels of the New Testament constantly indicate God's justice is on the side of the poor, the widows, the orphans and the foreigners. I would say God is also on the side of those suffering from wages that do not provide a decent living.
God does not call us Americans to rule the world with atomic bombs nor destroy the creation by enterprises. God does not call certain people to dominate the best resources. God does not bless nationalism nor brutality. God does not call the Israeli rulers to squelch the life out of their Palestinian citizens. God does not call us to be racially pure, but to be pure-hearted. God calls us to cooperate with one another and with all nations to bring about the great transformation right here. This transformation is for all humanity and our environment.
