Former Portage athlete Caitlyn Hibner and the UW-Green Bay women’s basketball team are headed back to the NCAA tournament.

The No. 22 ranked Phoenix rolled past Wright State 62-44 in Tuesday’s Horizon League Tournament championship game in Detroit to earn the league’s automatic bid for a fourth consecutive year. Hibner, a 6-foot sophomore guard, combined for five points in the first two games of the tournament before coming alive against the Raiders.

Hibner, who has averaged 5.3 points per game this season, played 31 minutes on Tuesday and had eight points, six rebounds and an assist. UW-Green Bay, making its 17th NCAA tournament appearance, will look to get out of the opening round for the first time since 2012.
