A Madison man was arrested and charged with his fifth drunken driving offense Oct. 28 outside Lake Delton, officials say.
Casey Schultz, 37, was arrested at 7:56 p.m. for his fifth OWI offense by a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper on North Reedsburg Road.
According to a press release from the Wisconsin State Patrol, the trooper stopped Schultz’s vehicle near Lake Delton for a defective exhaust violation. Upon approaching the vehicle, the trooper noticed signs the driver had been drinking and conducted a field sobriety test that determined Schultz was impaired.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation website, a fifth offense OWI is a felony punishable with a prison sentence of six months to 10 years. Fines range from $600-$25,000.
