Two 13-year-old students at Webb Middle School face potential charges after a threatening list they sent through Snapchat was discovered.
According to a press release from the Reedsburg Police Department, a “kill list” with names of students was discovered when one of the offenders sent the list to another juvenile. The juvenile notified middle school officials and the officials contacted the authorities.
The release said the two students were removed from school and interviewed by the Reedsburg Police Department. A threat assessment was conducted and the threat was considered to be low. There was no reference to any specific plans and both students “lacked the means to carry out any action.” Both students were released to their parents after the assessment.
The two students have been referred to juvenile authorities on preliminary charges of making terrorist threats and disorderly conduct and could face potential disciplinary action from the school district. The charges will be forwarded to the Sauk County Juvenile Court authorities.
