Robert J. Scott, 80, of Reedsburg, passed away Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, at Casa de Oakes in Reedsburg.
He was born Sept. 6, 1937, in Tomah, the son of Charles and Evelyn (Burke) Scott. Bob attended Webb High School in Reedsburg. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. On Sept. 10, 1955, he was married to the former Alice D. LaRue. Bob worked at American Motors in Kenosha. He then returned to Reedsburg where he was a partner in the Mid-City Meat Market. He also worked at Baraboo Concrete, St. Clare Hospital and lastly at Grede Foundry until his retirement. Bob also enjoyed his time as a partner at Scott’s Last Frontier Resort in Wascott where the family shared many great memories. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, walking in the woods looking for ginseng, shooting pool, playing cards, shaking dice and feeding the birds and squirrels.
Survivors include his four children, Tim (Pam) Scott of Belleville, Shelly (John) Schanke of Reedsburg, Kelly (Doug) Regge of Fitchburg and Kristi (Randy) Henning of Westfield; eight grandchildren, Zachary, Amanda, Jonathan, Ashlee, Whitnee, Alicia, Molli and Cody; two step-grandchildren, Jordan and Carlton; nine great-grandchildren; his brother Richard (Marilyn) Scott of Watertown; his sister-in-law Avis Blakeslee of Reedsburg; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alice on Sept. 23, 2015, and his brother Elton “Buzz” Scott.
A Mass of Christian burial was conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg, with Father David Carrano officiating. Military honors followed the service at the church. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date. A visitation was held from 10 a.m. until the time of the mass Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials for masses would be appreciated.
