Mabel Jeanette Krueger, 81, of Reedsburg, passed away Monday, Sept.25, 2017, at Home Health United Hospice in Baraboo.
Mabel was born Feb. 24, 1936, in Hillsboro, a daughter of the late Alfred and Mildred (Fry) Cole, and raised by the late Walter and Lida Schultz.
On Oct. 20, 1956, she was united in marriage to Roger C. Krueger at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Loganville. He preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1998.
Mabel was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. She was baptized Sept. 26, 1948, and confirmed June 5, 1949. She assisted with Sunday school and Bible school. She was employed by DHIA, Alpine Restaurant, J.C. Penney Store Co., Schultz Brothers, PrangeWay, Jubilee Foods, and most recently Village Market IGA in Reedsburg.
Survivors include her children, Rhonda (Dennis) Pingel of Appleton, Keith (Amy) Krueger of Green Bay, Sheila (Calvin) Steinweg of Hartford, Kevin (Julie) Krueger of Fenton, Missouri; grandchildren, Jeremy (Jennifer) White, Krista and Kara Krueger, Sally (Scott) Bos, Daniel (Kelly) Krueger, Kaitlyn (Dan) Bailey, and Kyle (Jamie) Krueger; great-grandchildren, Kassidy and Derek Krueger, Emma Cogswell, Cullen, Beck, and Flynn White; brother, Ervin (Beverly) Cole; sisters-in-law, Shirley Schultz and Mildred Krueger; and many other nieces, nephews; relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents; step-parents; and her husband Roger, she was preceded in death by her sister Nora Cole; brother Lloyd Schultz; and in-laws, Carol Krueger and Louise Krueger.
Funeral services for Mabel took place at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Loganville. Rev. Don Glanzer, pastor, officiated. Visitation was from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the church. Burial will follow services at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Loganville.
A memorial fund has been established in her name for St. Peters Lutheran Church of Loganville.
