Jane Katherine Pearson, 45, of Madison, left this world on Sunday, Sept.17, 2017, and has finally found peace.
Jane was born in Queens, New York City, on Oct. 5, 1971. She graduated from Webb High School in Reedsburg in 1988, where she was active in band and Choraliers. She attended University of Wisconsin-Madison and received a bachelor’s degree in communications. Jane struggled with alcoholism and the accompanying diseases and afflictions alcohol brought on. She continually tried to beat her addiction. She said, “I can do this,” but in the end, alcohol won.
Jane is survived by her parents, John and Janis Pearson of Reedsburg; her sisters Annie of Austin, Texas, and Sara of Woodruff. Jane is also survived by her paternal grandmother Shirley Peterson of Hillsboro; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Warren and Bette Kreuscher; her paternal grandfather Archie “Doc” Pearson; her cousin Paul Schneller; and her beloved cat Claire.
Jane was a bright and creative person and we will all miss her.
Jane’s life was honored with a memorial service at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at the United Methodist Church, Reedsburg, with Reverend Vicki Brantmeyer officiating. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until the time of service Thursday at the church. Private family burial will be held at a later date in the Resting Green Cemetery, Ironton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Aldo Leopold Nature Center, Madison, where Jane enjoyed volunteering this summer.
Farber Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
