Daniel Lee Fitzpatrick, 65, of the Town of Dellona rural Reedsburg, formerly of Wheeling, Illinois, passed away suddenly at home Monday, Dec. 4, 2017.
Dan was born Nov. 13, 1952, to the late Robert Fitzpatrick and Martha Voholetz. He married Cheryl Grabowski, May 20, 1972, in Round Lake, Illinois.
He loved living in his log home in the woods, turkey hunting, fishing and the Wisconsin outdoors. Always curious, a natural mechanic, Dan could fix anything. Dan was always on top of current events and political news.
Dan and Cheryl were recently retired from OTR expediting as Landstar BCOs for the past 12 years. As team drivers with more than 1 million miles, they enjoyed driving through our beautiful country in all 48 states and Alaska.
In addition to his wife, Cheryl, Dan is survived by his children, Amy Fitzpatrick (Jesse Linhart) of Reedsburg and Daniel Lee Fitzpatrick (Amy McElroy) and grandchildren, Marissa, Shelby, Braden and Ethan of St. Joseph, Illinois; sister-in-law, Barbara Grabowski of Wheaton, Illinois; stepfather, Bud (Katy) Blankenship of West Virgina; little sister, Angela (Bob) Springer and children of McHenry, Illinois; nephew, Kevin (Kim) Satterfield of Elgin, Illinois; step-sister, Terri (Ron) Pickens-Bridwell of Rockford, Illinois; half-brothers and sisters, Paul Blankenship, Debra (Keith) Alwardt, Mitchell Blankenship and Allen (Cathy) Blankenship; many other distant family members; and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; stepmother, Ruth; and brother, Robert Gene Fitzpatrick.
Memorial services for Dan will take place in the spring at Pleasant Memorial Park in Murphysboro, Illinois. A memorial fund has been established in Dan’s name for the Charity Care Program of the Reedsburg Area Medical Center C/O 2000 N. Dewey Ave., Reedsburg, WI 53959
