REEDSBURG — The Reedsburg Finance Committee recommended the approval of the 2010 budget to the Reedsburg Common Council Tuesday night following a joint meeting.
The budget has a $1,700 surplus with a maximum levy to local taxpayers. Because property values have increased, the actual mill rate — which is yet to be determined — should be minimized. The city is anticipating a 3.1 percent increase in property taxes collected.
The council is set to approve the budget Nov. 23 and will be holding a public hearing to discuss the budget with the community.
