Mathilda 'Tillie' K. Dryer, 92, Published May 7, 2008

Mathilda "Tillie" K. Dryer, 92 of Reedsburg, died on Sunday, May 4, 2008, in the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center. She was born on Feb. 11, 1916, in Andover, S.D. the daughter of Fred and Jennie (Reiter) Hayenga. On April 25, 1942, she was married to Grant R. Dryer. Tillie taught school in the Sauk Prairie area and at The Little Red School in the Town of Dellona. She later worked at J.C. Penney in Reedsburg for many years. Tillie enjoyed reading, being outdoors, cooking, sewing, traveling throughout the United States and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include three children, Jerry Dryer of Del Ray Beach, Fla., Janet Travis of Anchorage, Alaska and John (Reita) Dryer of LaValle; five grandchildren, Jerry (Greta) Dryer Jr., Andrew Dryer, Sam Travis, Sarah (Jake) Struempler and Clif Dryer; three great granddaughters, Katie Struempler, Liberty Struempler and LanLan Dryer; one great grandson, Charlie Struempler; a daughter-in-law, Maya Madden of Lone Rock; one sister, Fern; two brothers-in-law, Bill McConnell and Jay Henke; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant, on Sept. 7, 2004, her parents and a brother, Jack.

Private family funeral services will be conducted at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg. Interment will be in the Butterfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
