Lucy E. Barreau, 87, Published Oct. 1, 2008
Lucy E. Barreau, 87 of Cazenovia, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center. She was born on March 6, 1921, in Westford Township, Richland County, the daughter of Frank and Clara (Deitelhoff) Berberich. Lucy's greatest love was her family. She actively supported her kids and grandkids in all school and sporting events. She proudly made each grandchild an album in honor of their graduation. Lucy enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, needlework and flower gardening. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and Altar Society in Germantown and an honored 50-year member of the Richland County Homemakers.
She is survived by her children, Richard (Irene) Barreau of Cazenovia, Verne Barreau of Baraboo, William (Susan) Barreau of Portage, Karen (Tim) Hanko of Cazenovia; 12 grandchildren, Michael (Kim) Barreau, Mark (Julie) Barreau, Mathew Barreau, Sara, Jacob and Eric Barreau, Nicole and Christopher Barreau, Brooke, Courtney, Erin and Nikolas Hanko; great-grandchildren, Katie and Max Barreau, Daylia and William Barreau and Jaelynn Barreau; sisters-in-law, Bethel Barreau and Catherine Barreau, both of Richland Center; cousins, nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Lucy Barreau will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Germantown with Father Andre Panek officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Cazenovia Chapel. An Altar Society rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. and a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call on Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Cazenovia Chapel.
The Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg is assisting the family with the arrangements.
