William Timmons, 74 of Rock Springs, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo.

The Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at 11 a.m. at The Holy Family Catholic Church in LaValle with Father Larry Bowens officiating. Visitation was at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

William was born Feb. 4, 1934, in Gary, Ind., the son of Edwin and Esther (Biermeier) Timmons. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1955. In 1984 he married Janice Gorman in Mauston.

William is survived by his wife, Janice; stepsons, Randy (Ann) Moore of Tomah and Robert (Julie) Moore of Des Moines, Iowa; sisters, Mary (Bernard) Anderson and Julane Lunde, both of LaValle; grandchildren, Bryan, Ryan, Ebonie, Tasha and Kayla and a special friend, Sally Matthes of Spring Green. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roy, Edwin, Jr., Roland and Robert; and a sister, Bernice.
