Ethel Laky, 88 of Reedsburg, died on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at the Sauk Co. Health Care Center. She was born on Dec. 22, 1920, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of George and Ethel (Benson) Brenson. She was the manager of National Sportswear garment factory in Reedsburg for many years. She loved children, music, word puzzles and bowling. Ethel was a kind, generous, caring woman and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Leo Leonard Laky; her sisters, Rose (Harold) Carlson of Aurora, Ill., Fern Brenson and June Brenson of Chicago; her brothers, George Brenson of Calif., Bob Brenson of Pewaukee and LeRoy Brenson of Tomah; and her brother-in-law, Glenroy Austin of Reedsburg.
She is survived by her daughter, E.J. Laky and special friend Karen Bartle of Reedsburg; grandsons, Leo J. (Crystal) Laky of Lyndon Station; several great-grandchildren, Joseph L. Jenson and family of Las Vegas; her sister, Lenore Austin of Reedsburg; her brother, Ted (Nancy) Brenson of Reedsburg; many nieces, nephews in Wisconsin and Ottowa, Ill. areas.
The celebration of life service will be conducted on Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at 4 p.m. in the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg with Pastor Ray Harms officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. on Monday at the Farber Funeral Home.
