Esther C. Behn, 85 of Reedsburg, died Saturday evening, Oct. 31, 2009, in her home. She was born on June 19, 1924, in the Town of Reedsburg, the daughter of William and Louisa (Hesse) Behn. Esther was a graduate of Reedsburg High, Sauk County Normal School and Pepperdine College in California. She worked as a medical assistant for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed photography, quilting, knitting, cross-stitch, traveling and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Florence Behn of Reedsburg; four nephews, David (Nancy) Behn of Perkinsville, Vt., Steve (Linda) Behn of Reedsburg, Warren (Kristi) Behn of Reedsburg and Doug (Helyn) Behn of Lyndon Station; nine grand nieces and nephews; eleven great-grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Walter Behn.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg with Pastor Marsha Swenson officiating. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. There will be a visitation from noon until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated.
