IN BRIEF
REEDSBURG—Softball loses
The Reedsburg softball team managed just four hits Tuesday as they were shut out 7-0 at Waunakee.
First baseman Hillary Connors accounted for two Beaver hits as Warrior starter Alex Epping and reliever Katie Duhr shut the Beavers down.
The Warriors scored three times in the bottom of the second off Reedsburg's Amanda Deckard, and also took advantage of five Reedsburg errors in the win. Deckard gave up five hits and struck out four in a respectable effort on the mound, but the Beaver bats provided little help against Waunakee, who improved to 6-1 in the Badger North.

Make sure of your target
The Department of Natural Resources reminds turkey hunters to make sure of your target and what's near it before pulling the trigger. That's because in recent weeks conservation wardens have received a number of reports involving turkey hunters accidently bagging more than one bird with a single shot.
During several recent investigations, wardens learned that turkey hunters had forgotten that a shotgun shoots much different than a rifle. A shotgun disperses a pattern of fine shot, not a single projectile like a rifle. As that pattern of fine shot goes further away from the muzzle, it widens out and may unintentionally strike other turkeys standing near by.
If you accidently harvest more than one bird and do not have the proper permits, you should immediately contact your local Conservation Warden by calling 1(800) 847-9367 or 1 (800) TIP-WDNR.
