REEDSBURG—In the most dramatic of fashion, the Reedsburg varsity baseball team claimed a share of the Badger North conference championship with a thrilling 4-3 win over arch-rival Baraboo Thursday at Nishan Park.

Needing a win to ensure a three-way tie with Waunakee and Sauk, the Beavers scored in the bottom of the seventh inning to pull out the win as Matt Lennon scored on a base hit by Jeramy Greenwood. The Thunderbirds had tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the sixth on three straight base hits and a throwing error on Reedsburg starter Zach Downing.  Nick Labeots, Jake Overlien and Cody Holloway all recorded base hits, and when Downing fielded a ground ball and threw it over first baseman Dillon Berg's head, Labeots scored, and Holloway's base hit scored Overlien to tie the game.

The Beavers had taken a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first, only to watch Baraboo tie the game up in the top of the third. RAHS went up 3-1 in the fourth on a base hit by Matt Lennon, who then scored on an RBI single by his older brother Mike.

The win gave the Beavers an 8-4 record in the conference, tying them with Waunakee and Sauk for the conference title.
