Pirates improve to 20-4 overall, host Caz Sunday

REEDSBURG—Steve Hedgepath pitched a complete game four hitter and Jeramy Horkan drilled a home run to propel the Reedsburg Pirates to a 4-1 win over Cross Plains Sunday in HTL action.

Hedgepath gave up just four hits and struck out nine in nine innings of work as the Pirates improved to 9-2 in the west division Sunday league. Reedsburg is also 6-0 in Thursday play and 5-2 in non-league games for a 20-4 overall record.

The Pirates scored three runs in the top of the fifth as Horkan led off the inning with a solo blast and Trevor Berndt followed with a two out base hit that scored Nick Hebel and Travis VanZile that put Reedsburg up 3-0. The Pirates added another run in the eighth inning on three base hits and a walk.

After a Tuesday night game against Mazomanie last night, Reedsburg is scheduled to host Elroy Wednesday at 7 p.m.

This Sunday, July 20, the Reedsburg Pirates Home Talent Baseball Team hosts the Cazenovia Reds in a game that will honor the memory of the late Tom Rabuck.

Tom, a former Pirates coach, was a long-time familiar face around Reedsburg baseball, coaching most levels at one time or another.

The first pitch will be thrown out by Tom's son, Craig Rabuck, also a former Pirates player, at 1 p.m. at Nishan Park. Please stop out at the ballpark and show Tom's family your support of the Reedsburg Pirates.
