Harriers tune up for conference

The Reedsburg cross country teams placed runners in the top 10 in both the boys and girls races at the Wisconsin Dells Invite Saturday.

The Beaver girls continued their dominance in the area cross country scene as they won the meet with 35 points, 34 ahead of second place Oshkosh Lourdes in the eight team field. Brea Goodman, Dakota Goodman, Katelynn Diske  and Rachel Hasler all placed in the top 10 for RAHS as the Goodman's placed first and third, Diske was eighth overall and Hasler was 10th. Rebecca Lavely placed 13th and Arissa Michel was 15th. Brea Goodman's time of 15:06.78 was six seconds better than Mackenzie Weber of Oshkosh Lourdes, who placed second. Dakota Goodman was third at 15:52.71 while Katelynn Diske placed eighth at 16:20 and Hasler turned in a 16:48. Rebecca Lavely was named the athlete of the meet for Reedsburg, running in the number six spot on the varsity most of the season, Lavely slid into the five slot and turned in a personal best time of 17:05.

The Reedsburg boys placed fifth in the field with 108 team points while Peshtigo won the meet and Black River Falls was second.

Mikey Turner again placed in the top three with a 17:40 that put him in third place behind Peshtigo's James Menor and Tomah' Derek Storkel. Storkel won the meet at 16:27, a full half minute ahead of Menor. Ethan Dempsey was 13th for the Beavers (18:37.10) and Derrick Kinsman was 22nd at the 19:27 mark.

Up next for the Beavers will be the Badger Conference meet this Saturday at Devils Head Resort in Merrimac.
