Steak battle goes to Baraboo

The Baraboo Thunderbirds won the second annual Steak Feed Battle and were presented with a check for $2,116 at halftime of last Wednesday's Baraboo-Reedsburg football game at Baraboo. The heated contest saw Baraboo fans devour 465 steak dinners at the Viking Express Mart in Baraboo, while Beaver fans downed 368 at Viking Village Foods in Reedsburg. For their efforts, each school was presented with a check for the proceeds from the steak feed, and Baraboo was awarded a total of $1,616 plus an extra $500 for winning the contest while Reedsburg was awarded a check for $1,374. As for next year, Coy guarantees that Reedsburg will win the annual contest.
