The Reedsburg girls suffered their third straight loss Saturday as they dropped a 42-31 loss at Stoughton to the Vikings.
After racing out to a 10-1 start on the season, the Beavers now are 10-4 overall and 4-3 in the Badger North entering Thursday night’s home game with DeForest. Danae Daellenbach scored 12 points for Vikings, who won for just the fourth time this season.
Another poor night shooting from the floor hampered the Beavers as they scored just three points the entire first half and made just three of 16 free throw attempts in the game. It was the first regular season non-conference loss for the Beavers since a loss at Madison Edgewood Feb. 15, 2007.
The Vikings took a 10-3 lead after the first eight minutes and then the Beavers scoreless in the second quarter to take an 18-3 lead into the locker room at halftime. Reedsburg then outscored Stoughton 12-7 in the third quarter to get within 10 at 25-15. The two teams then combined to score 33 points in the fourth quarter, but the deficit was too big to overcome for Reedsburg, who was led by Chelsey Schulenburg, Sophie Lichte and Lauren Lukes, who all scored eight points each in the loss.
Brianna Bower added 11 points and Tessa Mersberger and Kayla Rowley added five points each for Stoughton.
