The Sauk Prairie gymnastics team finished sixth out of seven teams at the Badger Conference meet in Reedsburg on Saturday.

The Eagles collected a team score of 123.2 points, beating out Reedsburg (109.275) and finishing right behind Baraboo (123.875). Mount Horeb won its sixth consecutive conference title with a score of 139.35.

“The Eagles did fantastic against some of the best in southern Wisconsin,” Sauk Prairie assistant coach Ericka Pape said. “They again impressed their coaches with their ability to perform under pressure. Real progress has been made by these girls and they’re continuing to score higher, proving to themselves they have what it takes.”

Audrey Pape had the top all-around finish for Sauk Prairie, placing 11th overall with a score of 31.725. The sophomore was consistent throughout, taking 14th in the floor exercise (8.375), 14th on the uneven bars (7.75), 15th on the balance beam (7.625) and 18th in vaulting (7.975). Pape set personal records on the vault, bars and all-around on Saturday.

Cynthia Flores had Sauk Prairie’s best individual event finish, using a score of 8.25 to tie for eighth in vaulting. The senior placed 16th in the all-around (30.775), tying for 15th on the uneven bars (7.65), tying for 21st on the balance beam (7.2) and tying for 26th on the floor exercise (7.675).

Senior Lexie Fallow finished 19th in the all-around (29.775) after tying for 18th on the balance beam (7.4), taking 26th on the uneven bars (6.95), tying for 27th in vaulting (7.8) and placing 28th in the floor exercise (7.625).

Madison Marshall also had a nice day, taking 11th in vaulting (8.15) and 22nd on the floor exercise (7.975).

Kailey Raschka tied for 16th in the balance beam (7.6), while Hunter Lohr placed 22nd on the uneven bars (7.1), finishing one spot ahead of Raschka (7.05).

The Eagles improved by nearly 10 points from last season’s conference meet, when they finished with a team score of 114.150.

Sauk Prairie will compete in a WIAA Division 2 sectional in Baraboo on Thursday. The state meet will be held in Wisconsin Rapids on Friday, March 3 and Saturday, March 4.
