Veronica “Ro” (Greif) Komes, 62, of Prairie Du Sac, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, after a long battle at University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison.
Veronica was born Oct. 31, 1954, in Aurora, Illinois, to Martin and Eleanor Greif. She attended East Aurora High School in Aurora, Illinois. Veronica moved to the Sauk Prairie area in 2008. She made many friends and enjoyed living near the Sauk Prairie Riverway. Veronica was very loving and giving. She saw the world through the eyes of a child. She was very creative and loved making dolls, clothing, and blankets. She loved spending time with her cat, family, and friends.
Veronica is survived by her siblings, Bonnie (Bill) Johnson, Martin “Chipper” Greif, Connie Hill, Gary (Rhonda) Greif; her children, Heather (Alex) Cuautle, James Komes Jr., and Rita Komes. She is also survived by Honey, her fur-baby; her grandchildren, Kaleb, Dakota, Rozy, Jimmy, Noah, Karen, and Lizzy; 14 nieces; eight nephews; 18 great-nieces; 17 great-nephews; three great-great-nieces;, and two great-great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by Martin J. and Eleanor B. Greif; two brothers, Daniel J. Greif, Gordon W. Greif; and one sister in infancy, Lenore Greif.
A celebration of life will be held in May.
