Mark D. Gerry, 57, of Prairie du Sac, rode his final bike ride on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, got off his bike and went straight to the arms of Jesus after suffering a heart attack at home.

Born on Oct. 29, 1959, to Thomas and Evelyn Gerry of Madison, Mark married his best friend and love of his life Lori (Kessenich) on July 30, 1983. From that point, he always put Lori and their family as the top priority in his life. Mark and Lori lived life together to their fullest.

Mark has a large and loving family. His survivors include his mother; his wife Lori; sons, Bryan (Becca) Gerry of Rio, Ian (Daccia) Gerry of Prairie du Sac; daughter Elaine (Larry) Seiple of Prairie du Sac; grandchildren, Joshua Thomas (“JT”) Gerry, Ava Grace Gerry, Hattie Lea Gerry and two who are “on the way”; sisters, Linda (Steve) Bartlett of Madison and Debra (Ward) Dieter of Madison; in-laws, Richard and Joyce Kessenich of Prairie du Sac, Neal and Susan Kunde of Verona, Andy and Julie Kessenich of Prairie du Sac, Red and Lorie Kessenich of Spring Green, and Steve and Kim Kessenich of Montello; many nieces and nephews he loved as his own; a group that includes Craig (Abby) Bartlett, Lindsey (Dana) Bushart, Michael Tiffany, Holli Dixon-Ricker, Ben (Heidi) Kunde, Brittany Kunde, Brock Kunde, Bryce Kunde, Amy (Matt) Philibeck, Colton (“The Maggie”) Kessenich, Natalie Kessenich, Anna (Peter) Muro, Emily (David) McCoy, Elizabeth Kessenich and Abby (Nate) Huck; and the children of his nieces and nephews, a group that includes Charlie Bartlett, Frankie Bartlett, Henley Kunde, Joyce Philibeck, Audrey Muro, Jack Muro, Madelyn McCoy, Rory McCoy and another arriving in January.

Mark is celebrating in heaven with his father; two children that he didn’t get to hold on Earth; and his grandson Alvin.

A celebration of Mark’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at River Hills Church, 1111 Sycamore St., Sauk City. Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. until the time of service, followed by noon luncheon and a short bike ride at 1 p.m. around nearby McFarlanes’ Retail Service Center, in Mark’s honor.
