Now to Nov. 26
• The Bank of Prairie du Sac is accepting donations in support of Hope House of South Central Wisconsin. Community members contributing at the bank are entered into a drawing to win a $50 VISA gift card. The winner will be announced on Nov. 27. Suggested donations include new unwrapped holiday gift items, gift cards to retail stores, housekeeping items such as laundry soap, paper towels and food, as well as cash donations. Now to Nov. 15
• Cleaner by Nature in Sauk City is collecting basic winter necessities during the "A Gift of Warmth" campaign now to Nov. 15. The company is collecting gently used coats, snow pants, mittens, or hats along with other winter items. Items will be collected at Cleaner by Nature, 823 Phillips Boulevard in Sauk City or the St. Vincent de Paul store in Prairie du Sac. For more information, call 643-7300.
Oct. 29
• St. Aloysius School will host a Halloween party from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 29 in the school gym. A costume judging contest is at 7 p.m. followed by a pumpkin judging contest at 7:30 p.m.
• T.J. Howell presents his comedy juggling and unicycle show at 1 p.m. Oct. 29 at the River Arts Center in Prairie du Sac. The event is sponsored by the Prairie du Sac and Sauk City libraries. Howell and his two sons will juggle objects riding atop of a unicycle. They have performed at the Tommy Bartlett Show in the Wisconsin Dells. Children are encouraged to come in costume and participate in a costume parade after the performance. For more information, call 643-8318 or 643-8346.
• The Community Business Bank will host a free seminar, "Divorce In A Family Business" from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at the bank's Sauk City location, 1111 Sycamore St. Registration and light meal will be available from 5:30 to 6 p.m. For more information or to register e-mail bbreunig@cbbwi.com or call 877-839-6301.
• The Annual Living Well Expo, sponsored by the Aging and Disability Resource Center, will host exhibitors and speakers on Oct. 29 at the Resource Center in Baraboo. A bus will depart at 8:30 a.m. at the Sauk Prairie Community Center in Sauk City. The expo will provide information on travel, social and recreational opportunities, library services, tax information, Lifeline, medical, etc. There will be free tetanus shots, hearing aide cleaning and blood pressure checks. • The Friends of Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital and Clinics will sponsor a book and gift sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 29 in the hospital's Devils Lake Room.Proceeds from this sale will go toward scholarships for students pursuing healthcare careers and hospital and clinic resources.
Oct. 30
• The Sauk City Firefighter's annual Halloween dance is from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Oct. 30 at the Dorf Haus in Roxbury. Tickets cost $3 in advance or $5 at the door. Guest can attend in costumes and dance to the music of Swing Crew. Proceeds from the event will go to replacing outdated firefighting hand tools, hoses and nozzles. For tickets speak with any Sauk City firefighter.
• Costumed children will roam Water Street during Trick -or-Treat on Water Street from 4 to 7 p.m. in the villages of Sauk City and Prairie du Sac.
Oct. 31
• Saf-T-Funfest is from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 31 at Bluffview, across from Badger Ammunition Plant on Highway 12. Children can enjoy Halloween festivities, carving pumpkins and a bounce house.
• Residential areas in the villages of Prairie du Sac and Sauk City are welcoming area children to Trick-or-Treat during Halloween, Oct. 31, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Nov. 2
• "The Path to Happiness," a community enrichment discussion is at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Sauk City Public Library in the lower level meeting room. Guest speaker is Stuart Fields. For more information, call 643-8346.
Nov. 3
• The Sauk Prairie Optimist Club's spaghetti dinner is from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Sauk Prairie Community Center, 730 Monroe St. in Sauk City. Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 4 to 12, 3 and younger are free. Tickets are available at the door and from any optimist member. Boy Scout Troop 74 assists the club with this fundraiser.
Nov. 5
• The public is welcome to attend the annual meeting of the Friends of Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital and Clinics at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Dorf Haus Restaurant in Roxbury. Dinner is at 6 p.m. followed by a discussion on pain management by Dr. David Bryce. The cost is $16. To register by Oct. 30 call 643-7257.
Nov. 6
• The Sauk County Triad Program is sponsoring a free senior citizens vehicle safety check from 9 a.m. to noon at Ballweg Ford, 837 Phillips Boulevard in Sauk City. This service includes checking fluids, hoses, belts, lights and equipment on vehicles. No appointment is necessary and refreshments are provided. Nov. 7
• The Sauk Prairie Music Association's next Bingo night is at 6 p.m. Nov. 7 in the St. Aloysius School Gym in Sauk City. Sheets of six Bingo cards cost $1, dabbers $1 to $1.50. Concessions are available. Other dates to play are Dec. 5, Jan. 2, Feb. 6 and March 6.
