Community Events
Now to July 18
• The "Small Town Midwest" exhibit is on display now to July 18 at the River Arts Center in Prairie du Sac. The opening reception is from 4 to 7 p.m. June 11. The exhibit is made up of black and white and color photography that features images associated with small towns in the Midwest.
June 12 and 13
• Roxbury Catholic Council of Women will host a brat stand from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 12 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot in Sauk City.
June 13
• Comedian Ken Davis will present his Laugh Concert at 7:30 p.m. June 13 at the River Arts Center in Prairie du Sac. His concert will be with emcee Wendell Borrink and pianists Vivian Pearson Borrink and David Yerke playing four-hand piano as an opener. Tickets cost, $25, adults; $15, students. To purchase tickets visit RiverArtsInc.org or the Sauk Prairie Community Center in Sauk City. All proceeds will go to the River Arts, Inc. Steinway fund.
• Area residents are invited to join nature experts at the Gibraltar Rock to learn about its plant and animal diversity for a "BioBlitz" from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 13. At least four statewide experts, Mike Mossman, Sumner Matteson, Craig Anderson and Jim Bennett, will undertake a day-long species inventory of the state property. Attendees can meet at the Gibraltar Rock parking lot, one mile west of Hwy. 113 on Hwy. June 16
• The Tony Rocker band will perform at the free Sauk Prairie Riverway Concerts in the Park from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 16 at the August Derleth Park in Sauk City. Non-profit vendors will be selling food and beverage items.
• The Sauk-Prairie-Lodi After 5 Club will host a dinner party entitled, "Mirror, Mirror on the Wall" at 7 p.m. June 16 at the West Point Town Hall, N2114 Rausch Road in Lodi The cost is $10 inclusive. Greta Reed and Kelsey Smith will present their forensics selection and Anna Wilson will perform an interpretive dance. A discussion on "Mirrors Reflecting Your True Image" will be led by Sharla Fritz, of Aurora, Ill. To make a reservation, call (608) 592-3265 or 643-4286.
June 19
• Bach Dancing and Dynamite Society will feature, "Catch Me if You Can," at 7:30 p.m. June 19 at the River Arts Center in Prairie du Sac. For more information or tickets visit BachDancingandDynamite.org or call (608) 255-9866. Tickets are also available at the door. A portion of proceeds will benefit River Arts Steinway piano fund.
June 19 to 21
• St. Aloysius Home and School will host a brat stand June 19, 20 and 21 in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot in Sauk City. Proceeds from the event will help send the schools staff to a one week national convention in Minneapolis in 2010.
June 22
• The next Sauk Prairie area blood drive is from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Sauk Prairie Evangelical Free Church in Prairie du Sac. For an appointment, call 800-GIVE-LIFE. Walk-ins welcome.

• Theater Bus of Madison offers a chance for residents 55 years old or older to travel on a bus to area events. June bus tours will start off on June 16 to the Mississippi River were area residents will board the Island Girl in LaCrosse and have lunch on board. • Cody's Cruizers, juvenile diabetes fundraising group, is planning a open horse show to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at 8:30 a.m. June 21 at the Sauk County Fairgrounds.
