PdS library programs start

The Prairie du Sac Public Library is conducting summer reading program signups starting June 11.

Summer programs are for children and teens to help ensure that students continue with their reading during the summer time.

According to a press release submitted by the library, pre-readers through fifth graders can participate in the children's program by reading (or being read to) just 20 minutes per day to earn a prize every week and to be entered to win bonus prizes.

Teens entering seventh grade through 12th grade can participate in the teen program, "Express Yourself" by reading just two hours a week to earn prizes including candy, free games of bowling, and passes to Karate America. If teens read more than 12 hours this summer they are entered into the bonus drawing for a chance to win prizes including an MP3 player and Barnes and Noble gift cards.

Adults can also participate this summer by reading just two hours a week and entering into drawings to win prizes donated by local businesses including gift certificates to Blue Spoon, Green Acres, The Press Box, Hillcrest, Dorf Haus, and more.

According to the press release, in addition to reading, the library is also offering fun activities and performers for all ages.
