Libraries seek personal stories

The Prairie du Sac and Sauk City libraries are working together along with South Central Library System in a project called, "Libraries ... For Real Life."

Both libraries are seeking inspirational stories on how the libraries have helped community members.

According to a press release submitted by the libraries, each has helped the community for many years, and in the process have had significant impact on the lives of individual residents. Many of these are stories that deserve to be told with the help of this new project.

Stories collected will be shared with library users in the seven counties that are served by SCLS.

SCLS and its member libraries have created a Web site to begin sharing these stories —

www.librariesforreallife.org — which can be done by completing either the online form or a paper form.

According to the press release, some stories will be told with photos and text and in print materials, some will be told as audio files and photos and others will be shared through video clips on the Web site.

For more information, or to obtain a story submission form, visit or call the Prairie du Sac Library at 643-8318 or Sauk City Library at 643-8346.
