Rain expected to move out in time for trick-or-treating on Water Street Friday, wind and cold to follow
A strong storm system that dumped almost three-quarters of an inch of rain in the Sauk Prairie area overnight will move out of town mid-day on Friday, allowing trick-or-treaters to converge on Water Street in Sauk City and Prairie du Sac for the Trick-or-Treat on Water Street from 4 to 7 p.m.
The rain and a possible thunderstorm will last until about noon, with strong south to southwest winds up to 25 mph driving temperatures up to the mid-60s.
The gusty winds will usher in a cold front Friday night, dropping temperatures down to the upper 30s.
Weather Central meteorologist Brian Olson said we should expect early clouds and breezy conditions on Halloween, but expect the sun to break through later in the day with diminishing winds.
Trick-or-treaters will see temperatures start out in the low to mid-40s under partly cloudy on Saturday during the residential trick-or-treating from 4 to 7 p.m., with temps dropping to the low-30s by early Sunday morning.
Sunday should be a nice day with morning sun and a high of 50, but clouds move in later in the day with a chance of showers Sunday night.
The work week forecast calls for partly to mostly sunny skies Monday through Friday with highs hovering around 50 all week.
