Blanche R. Eschenbach, 96, of Baraboo - Published July 16, 2008

Blanche R. Eschenbach, 96, of Baraboo, died on Monday morning, July 7, 2008 at St. Clare Hospital. 

Mrs. Eschenbach is the  daughter of Hardy and Gladys (Pearson) Spencer. She was born on July 4, 1912 in Baraboo. On March 14, 1934, she was united in marriage to Lyle Eschenbach in Baraboo.

Mrs. Eschenbach had been employed at the Badger Army Ammunition Plant, and had farmed with her husband, Lyle, for many years. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ.

Mrs. Eschenbach thoroughly enjoyed living on Lake Wisconsin, loved spending time with her many friends and relatives, and playing cards. She helped organize and was a member of the Friendly Neighbors Club in Merrimac for over 40 years and also belonged to the 500 Club.

Mrs. Eschenbach is survived by two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Eschenbach, of Baraboo, and Janet Klipp, of Reedsburg; an aunt, Bernyce Manville, of Port Ludlow, Wash.; 15 nieces and nephews, Jeanene (Thomas) Brockley; Muriel Tate, Dennis (Sheri) Spencer; Thomas Spencer, Barbara (Dale) Nelson,              Michael (Donna) Spencer, Charles (Norma) Spencer, Gerald Spencer; Steven (Bonnie) Spencer, Gary (Joan) Spencer, Robert (Kathy) Spencer, Diane Spencer, Terry (Jackie) Spencer; Roger "Bud" (Donna) Balfanz, and Robert (Linda) Balfanz; other relatives and many, many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lyle; her infant twin daughters, June and Joan; her son, Gene; and brothers, LaVerne, Thomas, Pearson "Pete," and Merle "Mike" Spencer.

Funeral services were July 10 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Baraboo with Pastor Doug Fauth officiating. Interment was in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.
