Marvel Carncross (nee Unke), 92, of Lodi/Sauk Prairie, died on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Carncross was born May 27, 1916 to August and Ella (Enge) Unke. After graduating high school in Prairie du Sac, she married Warren Carncross on March 3, 1939. They farmed in the town of West Point and raised three children, Joyce (Mark) Minor, of Morehead, Ky., Phyllis Sitter, of Spencer, Iowa, and Gordon (Emily) Carncross, of West Point. In addition to family and farming, her interests included the Cheerful Gleaners Sunday School Class, teaching children's Sunday School, 4-H leader, and the Peppy 69ers Homemakers' Club.
Mrs. Carncross is survived by her children; a brother, Reuben, of West Point; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren, her sister Vera Enge, and son-in-law Gary Sitter.
A private family burial service was held, with interment in Garden Bluff Cemetery. There will be a public memorial service at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 17 at the Concordia United Methodist Church.
