Monroe Albert Nolden, 90, of Prairie du Sac - Published October 8, 2008
Monroe Albert Nolden, 90, of Prairie du Sac, died on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008 at Select Specialty Hospital in Madison.
Mr. Nolden was born in Prairie du Sac Township on Aug. 12, 1918, the son of the late Conrad and Philomena (Blum) Nolden. He was united in marriage to Mildred Leister on June 3, 1941.
Mr. Nolden loved to play cards and go fishing, but his first love was farming, which he did all of his life. He was a lifetime member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
Mr. Nolden is survived by his wife, Mildred; five children, Maurice (Jackie), Richard (Laura), Greg (Alice), Tom (Rita) and Sue (Bill) Matth; a daughter-in-law, Mary Nolden; a sister, Leonita "Toody" (Roger) Behling; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donald L.; a sister, Lillian Breunig; a brother, Marvin; a granddaughter, Carrie and a daughter-in-law, Karen.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Oct. 7 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Sauk City with Fr. Jared Hood officiating. Burial was in the St. Aloysius Cemetery
