Judith Ann "Judi" Baetz, 59, of Sauk Prairie/ Lodi - Published October 15, 2008

Judith Ann "Judi" Baetz, 59, of Sauk Prairie/ Lodi, died peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008 at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital, following a short battle with cancer. 

Mrs. Baetz was born in Hartford on Aug. 9, 1949, the daughter of Melvin and Dolores (Meyer) Hackbarth. She was united in marriage to John Baetz on Aug. 9, 1969. The couple have lived in the Sauk Prairie area since 1979. Prior to that she had been a kindergarten teacher in Theresa. She was active in Christian and community organizations in the Sauk Prairie area and was a speaker and writer for Stonecroft Ministries.

Mrs. Baetz is survived by her husband, John; three children, Jenna (Shannon) McCann, of Prairie du Sac, James (Jessica) Baetz, of Indianapolis and B.J. (Satoko) Baetz, of Madison; three grandsons, Jeran, Sedric and Julian; a soon-to-be granddaughter, Lily; her mother, Delores; a brother, Dale (fiancee Kate) Hackbarth; two sisters, Darlene (Tim) Kent and Diane (John) Marofske; two brothers-in-law, Mike Cornelius and Robert (Kay) Baetz; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, and a sister, Sharon Cornelius.

A memorial service was Oct. 14 at the Sauk Prairie Evangelical Free Church in Prairie du Sac with Pastor Timothy Pietrogallo officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
