Duane M. Brickl, 66, of Prairie du Sac - Published October 15, 2008

Duane M. Brickl, 66, of Prairie du Sac, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008 at his home.

Mr. Brickl was born in Plain on Feb. 18, 1942, the son of the late Michael and Loretta (Aron) Brickl. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Alt on May 9, 1964.

Mr. Brickl served in the Army from 1960 to 1963. He was employed at Oscar Mayer for 35 years retiring in 2004. He was currently employed by the Girl Scouts of Black Hawk. He enjoyed playing the piano and spending time with his granddaughter. He was a member of St. Aloysius Parish and the Knights of Columbus, Council #3099.

Mr. Brickl is survived by his wife, Marilyn; three sons, Dean, of Prairie du Sac, Craig, of Massachusetts, Douglas, of North Freedom; a granddaughter, Lori; a brother, Leon (Betty), of Rochelle, Ill.; two sisters, Ellen (Jay) Jerrett, of Baraboo and Dorothy (Cyril) Heiser, of Plain; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard, a sister, Rita and an infant nephew.

A Mass of Christian Burial is at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 16 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with Fr. Jared Hood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call on Thursday from 10:30 until time of service at Hooverson Funeral Home.
