Mary J. Feltz, 64, of Sauk City - Published November 19, 2008
Mary J. Feltz, 64, of Sauk City, died at home on Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Mrs. Feltz was born on Feb. 29, 1944 in Menomonee Falls to the late Alphons and Marcella (Steger) Schneider. She graduated from UW-Platteville in 1966 with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education.
On Oct. 29, 1966 she was united in marriage to Carl Feltz at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Menomonee Falls. She taught for the Sauk Prairie School District from 1966 until her retirement in 1999. She shared her love of reading and writing with many fifth graders through the years. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Sauk City.
Mrs. Feltz is survived by her husband, Carl, of Sauk City; two daughters, Carla (Fred) Peterson, of Plain and Robyn (Brian) Tisch, of Deforest; five grandchildren that were the lights of her life: Andrew and Julia Peterson, and Lilia, Claudia, and Tyler Tisch; one sister, Karen (Dave Homp) Hammer, of Lake Mills; two brothers, Gary (Debbie) Schneider, of Richfield and Dale (Angela) Schneider, of Germantown. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lois Warga.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Nov. 17 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Sauk City with Fr. Jared Hood and Fr. William Seipp concelebrating. Burial was in the St. Aloysius Church Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the family for a memorial scholarship being set up by the family through the Sauk Prairie Foundation for Academic Excellence. This scholarship will be awarded in her name to a student entering the field of elementary education.
