Viola Pauline "Honey" Curtis, 94, Sauk City - Published November 26, 2008

Viola Pauline "Honey" Curtis, 94, Sauk City, died at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital on Wednes-day, Nov.,19, 2008. 

Mrs. Curtis was born Oct.1, 1914 in Sauk City to the late Louis and Laura (Geier) Reible. She married Frank Curtis May 3, 1941, he preceded her in death June 26,1974. During World War II she worked at a box and airplane supply company in Chicago. After returning to Sauk City she worked for George Weidenfeld and then later at Gansers Variety Store. 

Mrs. Curtis was an avid bowler and volunteer at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hopsital and volunteer librarian at St. Aloysius School. She was a member of the American Legion Auxilary Post for over 63 years, Catholic Daughters of America and a lifelong charter member of the Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital Auxilary and St. Aloysius Catholic Church. 

Mrs. Curtis is survived by nieces and nephews, Sonja "Sunny" Eckstein, of Sauk City, George Hicks, of Prairie du Sac, Mary Hicks, of Redwood City, Calif., Rose (Tom) Tabor, of  Mozula, Mont., Teda Shreiner, of Ft. Atkinson, Bill Blau, of Merrimac, Lou (Cookie) Setzke, of Prairie du Sac, Mike (Geri) Curtis, of Broadhead, John (Brigitte) Curtis, of Plainfield, Ill. And a very special cousin, Marie Pulvermacher, of Madison. She is further survived by many great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, other reltives and many friends. Mrs. Curtis, having no children of her own was like a mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother to all.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by six siblings, Rheinhard "Hardy" (Ann) Reible, Florence (Bert) Blum, Pauline (George) Knight, Armella (Irv) Setzke, Lorraine "Curly" (George "Red") Hicks and Cordella (Herman) Pings and two nieces Geri Blau and Sandy Hicks and nephews LaVerne Eckstein, Sr. and Don Schreiner.

A mass of christian burial was Nov. 25 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with Fr. Jared Hood officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
