Frank Esser, 84, of Oxford
Frank Esser, 84, of Oxford, died on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009 at the Adams-Friendship Hospital.
Mr. Esser was born on July 18, 1925 in Dane, the son of Mathias and Ida (Popplebaum). He married Lorraine Schiffman on April 13, 1979. He was a graduate of Lodi High School.
Mr. Esser was employed at Wright Patterson Airforce Base as a airplane and engine mechanic until retirement in 1980. He had served in the Army Aircore in World War II. He loved reading books, traveling, and sharing stories about his time in World War II.
Mr. Esser is survived by his wife, Lorraine; three step-daughters, Gerry (Greg) Schmitt, Joann (Ken) Fasking and Sherry (Russ) Pieper; five step-sons, Don (Ruth) Schiffman, Dick Schiffman, Joe (Geneva) Schiffman, Darrell (Jo) Schiffman and Duane (Sue) Schiffman; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Hilmer Esser, Mathias Esser and Eugene Esser; sisters, Rose Meek, Helen Esser, Leola Jacobson, Edna and Elsie; and his step-daughter, Dee Harrison.
A private celebration of Frank's life is at a later date.
