Dale Lee Miles, 66, of Columbia, South America/Sauk City
Dale Lee Miles, 66, of Columbia, South America/Sauk City, died unexpectedly Oct. 27, 2009 from complications after heart surgery at a Hospital in Columbia, South America. Mr. Miles was born May 16, 1943 in Mauston, the youngest of five children to John and Lucille (Webster) Miles. He was proud of earning his eagle scout rank in boy scouts and was very successful in athletics in high school. Mr. Miles lettered in football, basketball and track all four years of high school. He graduated Mauston High School in 1962 and he then attended barbering school in Rockford, Ill. and barbered in Sauk City where he started his family. Mr. Miles owned and operated The Penguin Bar and then moved to Las Vegas and worked at the Barbary Coast and The Gold Coast. He later moved back to the Sauk City area to be near his family and friends. After retiring he moved to South America. Mr. Miles favorite pastime was wood carving. He also enjoyed fishing, sports, dancing and traveling. Everyone appreciated his unique sense of humor. Mr. Miles is survived by his wife, Cela, of Columbia, South America; three children, LeRoy (Sue) Miles, of Portage, Carrie Miles-Kemnitz, of Westfield and Angie (John) Morris, of Oxford; his brothers and sisters, Thomas (Linda) Miles, of Markesan, Joanne (Don) Hannon, of Indianapolis, Ind., Allen (Beverly) Miles, of Burlington, Patty (Gale) Burkhalter, of Kendall; his first wife, Joanne (Dallman) Curless, of Portage; Marlene Miles, of Baraboo; six grandchildren, Ryan, Jenna, Morgan, Brad, Jade and Matthew; and many other relatives and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and Uncle Eddie (the clown) Webster. Memorial services will be at a later date. — He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
