Albert R. Stoffels, 92, of Sauk City
Albert R. Stoffels, 92, of Sauk City, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010 at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Stoffels was born in Sauk City on March 7, 1917, the son of the late Martin and Christina (Falkenstein) Stoffels. He was united in marriage to Ruth C. Austin on Nov. 20, 1944.
Mr. Stoffels owned and operated Stoffels Slaughtering Service and Meat Market. Prior to that he was the head of Sawyer Tie and Lumber Company in Sauk City. He was a former Sauk City Auxiliary Police Officer, and a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and the Sauk Prairie Gun Club.
Mr. Stoffels is survived by seven children, James (Dorene) Stoffels, of Lyndon Station, Judith Stoffels, of Madison, Kristin (Lynn) Midthun, of Sauk City, Kathryn (Vern) Bronson, of Madison, Margaret (Jerry) Roth, of Prairie du Sac, Monica (Tim) Righter, of Vienna, W.V.,Joseph Stoffels (Doug Balfanz), of Janesville; a sister, Marcella Wallace, of Loveland, Colo.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Feb. 19, 2008; five brothers and two sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Jan. 11 at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Sauk City with Fr. John Blewett officiating. Burial was in the St. Aloysius Cemetery.
