Trailing Rio 1-0 entering the bottom of the eighth, Deforest shortstop Matt Kabele and right fielder Tyler Kurt hit back-to-back solo home runs off of Rio pitcher Anthony Bortz to tie the game and then give DeForest the lead, as DeForest went on to pick up a 4-1 victory in an Eastern Sectional Home Talent League playoff game on Sunday in DeForest.

DeForest pitcher Brandon Hemstead picked up the win, striking out eight over eight innings of work.
