Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was traded from the Texas Rangers to the New York Yankees on Wednesday.
While the 29-year-old former Wisconsin Badgers quarterback isn't giving up the gridiron for the baseball diamond, Wilson is expected to attend the Yankee's upcoming Grapefruit League camp in Tampa, Florida.
Wilson, a four-time Pro Bowler, said in a statement that his time playing baseball has helped him as an NFL quarterback.
"While football is my passion and my livelihood, baseball remains a huge part of where I came from and who I am today,” Wilson said in a statement. “I’ve learned so much on the baseball field that translates to my game physically and mentally playing quarterback in the NFL.”
