The 18th-ranked University of Wisconsin men's hockey team ended a winless streak at five games behind a short-handed goal by Trent Frederic and third-period scores by Ryan Wagner and JD Greenway in a 5-2 victory over Michigan State on Saturday at the Kohl Center.

No. 3: Michigan State's Mitchell Lewandowski scored his second and third goals of the series.

No. 2: Frederic put the Badgers ahead with 3:06 left in the second period with a short-handed goal. He tied for the team high with four shots on goal and was plus-2.

No. 1: UW's Seamus Malone had an empty-net goal and the assist on Frederic's goal. He added a key block on a Spartans power play in the first period.

The University of Wisconsin men's hockey team is making at least two changes to its lineup as it tries to find a group that will end a five-game winless streak Saturday against Michigan State (7 p.m., Fox Sports Wisconsin, 1310 AM).

Matt Ustaski and Jason Ford are out of the lineup for the 18th-ranked Badgers after a 2-0 loss to the Spartans on Friday made them 0-4-1 in their last five games. Cullen Hurley and Matthew Freytag are listed on the fourth line.
