The Dells Ducks rolled back into town on New Year’s Day to begin preparing for the United States Premier Hockey League homestretch.
Beforing taking off on the Christmas break, the Ducks collected four wins at the Midwest Showcase tournament, boosting its longest winning streak of the season to eight games and pulling up to the .500 plateau for the first time at 13-13-2.
The season will pick up again for the Ducks at another showcase event, this time at Marlborough, Massachusetts, near Boston. The Ducks will play teams from the North and Mid Atlantic Divisions, putting its eight-game winning streak on the line.
The tournament begins on Friday against the Hartford Jr. Wolfpack (6-18-0, eighth place, Mid-Atlantic) at 10:10 am. The Ducks will return Saturday for two tough games, starting with a 6:30 a.m. game against the Syracuse Stars (24-6-2, 1st Place North Division); and the Northern Cyclones, (16-7-2, 5th place North Division) at 4:40 p.m. On Sunday the Ducks will wrap it up with a 4 p.m. game against the South Shore Kings (19-4-2, 2nd North Division).
The Ducks will return home and play an exhibition game against a team made up of fire fighters and police officers from the Chicago area on Jan. 11, before visiting the Wisconsin Rapids Riverings for games on Jan. 12-13.
The Ducks will play its first home set in a month Jan. 19-21 against the Minnesota Mullets.
