Baraboo's First Bundle of Joy in 2010

Taytum Poker, born at 9:47 a.m. on New Year's Day, was Baraboo's first baby for 2010, 18 inches long and weighing in at eight pounds. Mother Heather Poker, 29, said she had been scheduled to have a caesarian section today, but went into labor early after dancing at a wedding party on New Year's Eve. Taytum is the third child of Heather and husband Paul, left. "We figure the year has started out great, so it's going to be a pretty good year," Heather said. The year's second baby, born to 26-year-old Janie Cortez of Baraboo at 5:52 p.m., was Olivia Iris Blackard, weighing in at 7 pounds, 13 ounces. Olivia is Cortez's fourth child. ...more
