Baseball roundup: H/D blasts Williams Bay
By Citizen Staff
HUSTISFORD — Derek Pieper and Wes Jahnke combined for seven hits and five RBIs for Hustisford/Dodgeland in Monday's 10-0 Southern Trailways rout of visiting Williams Bay. "Just a solid ballgame," H/D coach Rich Padron said. "We got the job done and stayed right up there with Johnson Creek." H/D (12-4, 9-2 South) used a bases-clearing triple by Pieper in the third inning to forge a 4-0 lead. Pieper never let Williams Bay into the contest, allowing just three hits in the complete-game shutout. Padron credited Jahnke for his pitchers' success this season. "Wes does a great job calling games for us behind the plate," Padron said. "That's been a big plus for us." H/D heads to Johnson Creek to face the first-place Bluejays Friday.
