Tarrant Lake committee to meet

CAMBRIA — The Tarrant Lake Preservation Committee will meet on Tuesday, June 23, at 6:30 p.m. in the Cambria Community Room, 115 W. Edgewater St., to review the lake plan that has been developed over the last year. Village residents met on several occasions in 2008 to discuss needs and wants regarding Tarrant Lake's future.  Chris Arnold, from Columbia County Land and Water, will have copies of the plan available on a limited bases and the plan will be made available electronically. The review process will allow for final adjustments to the plan and once approved will be sent to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for review and implementation.  Committee members will vote on the final lake plan in July.

All residents from Cambria and the surrounding area are encouraged to attend.

"We had a variety of residents from the village and surrounding area participate in this process and would like all of them to return to see the results of their input and hard work. It is also important to look at the long-term health of the lake and how we can keep degradation of our waters to a minimum, especially with the industrial spill into the wetlands that occurred just a couple of weeks ago," said John Domino of Cambria.

The Tarrant Lake Preservation Committee will also hold a meeting to discuss future fundraisers, events and nominations of new members and officers.  Anyone interested is encouraged to attend.
