Man convicted of fleeing police
By Citizen Staff
JUNEAU — A 23-year-old Milwakuee man who reportedly led two different sheriff’s departments on high-speed pursuits in one night has been sentenced to jail.
Eric J. Millard was sentenced to five months in jail and 18 months of probation for leading a Dodge County Sheriff’s deputy on a high-speed pursuit on Sept. 11.
Dodge County Judge John Storck also ordered that Millard must pay $1,383 in court costs and fines, and his driver’s license has been revoked for six months.
According to police reports, a Dodge County deputy clocked Millard driving a motorcycle 85 mph in a posted 55 mph zone on Highway 60 near the Wild Goose State Recreational Trail parking lot.
Millard led officers on a high-speed chase that went through the city of Juneau before he crashed his motorcycle on Highway DJ, near Club Grounds Road, in the town of Oak Grove.
When officers took Millard into custody they asked him if he had also led Waukesha County Sheriff’s deputies on a pursuit early in the night. He reportedly “gulped” and admitted that he had.
Millard was cited in Waukesha County for unreasonable and imprudent speed and operating a motorcycle without a valid license. He was ordered by a Waukesha County judge to pay fines for both citations.
